Bonnie Wenk Park Connects McKinney Play Space With Wilson Creek Trails

Bonnie Wenk Park packs a lot into one McKinney address. The city's park page lists all-abilities playgrounds, an amphitheater, a fishing pond, lacrosse fields, an outdoor fitness court, food-truck spaces, and a dog park, all in the same place.

It also plugs into the Wilson Creek Trail, which winds for about ten miles through several McKinney parks. In June 2023 the U.S. Department of the Interior named Wilson Creek a National Recreation Trail, the only Texas trail to earn the designation that year.

For families and dog owners, Bonnie Wenk is simply a good day out. For anyone trying to understand McKinney, it shows how the city builds trails, water, and play into one connected system. Check the official McKinney pages for rules, closures, and parking.
