Primera is a small town in Cameron County, in the Rio Grande Valley about 27 miles northwest of Brownsville. It lies in the flat, intensively farmed delta country of deep South Texas, an area worked for citrus, vegetables, and other crops. The town is a residential community amid the surrounding cropland and small Valley settlements.
