Kyle, Texas
Kyle is a city in Hays County along the Interstate 35 corridor between Austin and San Marcos, in the Central Texas country where the Blackland Prairie meets the eastern edge of the Hill Country. Positioned about 21 miles south of Austin, it has grown rapidly in recent decades as one of the fast-expanding suburbs of the Austin metropolitan area. The city is associated with the writer Katherine Anne Porter, who spent part of her childhood there.
