Uhland, Texas

Uhland lies in the Central Texas farm country between Austin and San Marcos, in Hays County near the Caldwell County line about 10 miles from San Marcos. The community was settled by German immigrants in the 1800s and takes its name from the German poet Ludwig Uhland; for generations its stores served the cotton farmers and ranchers along Plum Creek. It sits within the fast-growing corridor south of Austin along the Interstate 35 axis.
