Bring the Seller With You When You Title a Used Car in Rusk County

A private vehicle sale in Rusk County ends at the tax office, not in the driveway. TxDMV says vehicles must be titled in the buyer's name within 30 days of the sale.

TxDMV also tells buyers to have the seller come to the county tax office when possible. A clerk can look at the signed title before the seller disappears and can flag salvage or legal issues.
