No Inspection Line to Sit In Before You Register in Rusk County

Since January 1, 2025, most personal vehicles no longer need a Texas safety inspection before registration. DPS says the state now collects an inspection program replacement fee at registration instead.

Emissions testing is separate. TxDMV lists the counties that still need that test. Rusk County is not on the list.
