Rio Bosque Brings Back River Habitat
Rio Bosque Wetlands Park tells a different El Paso outdoor story than the mountain trails. It is a 372-acre City of El Paso park in the lower valley, near the Rio Grande and the old mission communities.
UTEP runs the park for the city and works there to restore wetlands, river woods, and grassland. Birds are a big part of the draw, with more than 200 species recorded, plus guided walks when conditions line up.
The park is open from dawn to dusk, with trails and a visitor area at the Bosque Trailhead. UTEP's Rio Bosque page carries the current word on gates, tours, water, and access.
