Ascarate Park Gives El Paso a County Lake
A 48-acre lake in the desert will make a newcomer look twice. Ascarate Park is El Paso County's largest public-use park, and it wraps more than 400 acres around that water. People go there for lake walks, picnics, and fishing.
The park also has a large swim center, playgrounds, picnic shelters, ball fields, courts, the Healing Garden, and 27 holes of golf split between the main course and Delta 9.
For many families, that is a whole day in one county park. The county page carries lake rules, golf and pool hours, events, and any water or boating notices.
