Chamizal Has Grounds, Art, and Boundary History

Chamizal National Memorial is both open city space and border history. The National Park Service runs the grounds, walking areas, and cultural center in central El Paso, and visiting is free.

The park marks a peaceful deal after a long fight over the Rio Grande boundary between the United States and Mexico. The river had shifted, and the land question took diplomacy to settle.

For El Paso, Chamizal works two ways: green space near downtown and a clear window into shared border culture. The NPS page has hours, parking, events, and closures.
