Game Rooms in Unincorporated Areas Go Through the Sheriff's Office

Outside city limits in Brazoria County, a game room goes through the Sheriff's Office. It is not just a normal business filing. The county game-room staff review the form and enforce the local rules.

The fee is $500 and it is not refundable. After the first inspection, the applicant has 60 days to finish the process. Miss that clock and the application is denied. If denied, the owner can ask for a written hearing before Commissioners Court within 14 days.

Before renting space for amusement machines, read the Sheriff's Office page. The address, owner papers, and county approval can decide whether the room may open.
