Set on the coastal plain of Brazoria County, Bailey's Prairie is a small village about 31 miles southwest of Pearland in the flat, low-lying country north of the Gulf. The landscape around it is a mix of open prairie, farmland, and wooded creek bottoms typical of the upper Texas coast.
