Alvin, Texas

Alvin lies on the flat coastal plain of Brazoria County, about 25 miles south of Houston and just southwest of Pearland on the upper Gulf Coast. The area is low, level land historically given over to farming and ranching before Houston's growth pushed suburban development outward toward it. Alvin is widely known as the hometown of Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan.
