The Dallas Arboretum Adds Garden Color to White Rock Lake
On the east shore of White Rock Lake, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden fills 66 acres at 8525 Garland Road. It is the garden side of the lake, with seasonal flowers, trees, shrubs, and themed plant collections.
That gives East Dallas a different kind of lake identity. The trail loop has joggers and cyclists; the arboretum brings tulips, fall pumpkins, school trips, weddings, and people who came just to see what is blooming.
It is also a managed, ticketed place. Admission, parking, event hours, and closures are separate from a normal walk around the public lake trail.
