Balch Springs is a city in Dallas County about 11 miles east of downtown Dallas, forming part of the built-up southeastern suburbs of the metroplex. It sits on the gently rolling terrain of the blackland region, now largely developed with residential neighborhoods and commercial corridors. The city takes its name from natural springs that once flowed in the area.
