Businesses May Need to Render Personal Property to Brazoria CAD
Business property tax is not only land and buildings. In Brazoria County, taxable personal property used to make income must be rendered to BCAD. That can mean equipment, machines, furniture, and inventory owned on January 1.
The normal deadline is April 15. A written request can move it to May 15. A late, incomplete, or missing rendition can bring a penalty of 10 to 50 percent of the tax due. The income-tax return is separate; it does not replace the county form.
If a shop, office, restaurant, fleet, or home business owns real gear, pull the BCAD business personal property form before spring.
