You Don't Have to Drive Into Waco for Car Tags: McGregor and West Do It Too

If you live near the west or north side of the county, downtown Waco is not the only auto counter. McLennan County has full-service substations at 415 N. Johnson in McGregor and 201 N. Reagan in West. Both handle titles, registration, placards, and related work.

They keep weekday hours but close for lunch from noon to 1, so time the trip. For a simple registration sticker, you may not need a county counter at all. The county lets renewal notices go through several H-E-B stores and Educators Credit Union locations.

West is also the Czech-heritage town known for kolaches off I-35, so a tag errand can come with a bakery stop.
