Cameron Park: 416 Acres of Cliffs and River Right at Waco's Edge
Cameron Park is Waco's big green room: 416 acres near downtown, with two rivers, cliffs, playgrounds, and old shade trees all packed into one city park. The William Cameron family donated the parkland more than a century ago.
The limestone gives the park its drama. Lover's Leap has an overlook on the Cameron Park cliffs, and Circle Point sits about 100 feet above the Brazos River. The trail system runs for about 26 miles, with routes that climb, dip, and twist through the woods.
The soft side is just as real. Mouth of the Bosque looks toward the Brazos and Bosque rivers, Pecan Bottoms has a playground and splash pad, and Cameron Park Zoo sits inside the park. One family can make it a hard hike off Jacob's Ladder; another can make it a stroller-and-giraffes morning.
