Camping on Waco Lake: Four Corps Parks, and Two Close for Winter

For camping by the water, the Army Corps of Engineers runs four Waco Lake campgrounds: Airport Park, Reynolds Creek, Midway, and Speegleville. They offer a mix of RV hookups, tent sites, and group areas, but the parks do not all work the same way.

Airport Park is the year-round choice. It has 46 sites with 50-amp electric and water, and 22 also have sewer hookups. Speegleville runs March through October and has screened shelters and a four-lane boat ramp. Reynolds Creek mostly closes in the cold months, but its equestrian sites stay open all year.

Reservations go through Recreation.gov. Spring and summer weekends fill early. A few sites sit back from the shore, so a lake trip goes better when you check the map before picking a loop.
