Simonton is a small city in Fort Bend County, about 20 miles west of Sugar Land and 36 miles west of Houston. It lies in the flat coastal-prairie and river-bottom country along the Brazos River, west of the Houston metropolitan area. The setting is largely rural, with farmland, pasture, and wooded bottomland surrounding the community.
