Rockport is a city in Aransas County on the Texas coastal bend, about 27 miles northeast of Corpus Christi, occupying a low peninsula between Aransas and Copano bays. The town is known for its sheltered harbor, its wind-sculpted live oaks, and its birding, and the nearby Aransas National Wildlife Refuge draws visitors to see wintering whooping cranes.
