Bayside is a small town in southern Refugio County on the Coastal Bend, about 23 miles northeast of Corpus Christi, stretching along the southwestern shore of Copano Bay. Its economy has long centered on fishing and the water, and the bay's shoreline makes the area a noted stopping point for hummingbirds, waterfowl, and other migrating birds.
