Robstown sits in Nueces County on the Coastal Bend of South Texas, about 16 miles west of Corpus Christi amid the flat coastal plain. It grew up as an agricultural and railroad center serving the surrounding farm country, and cotton, grain, and other row crops have long been important to the area. The land around town is level and given over largely to farming, with the Gulf coast a short distance to the east.
