Mesquite, Texas

Mesquite is a city in Dallas County immediately east of Dallas, part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, sitting on the blackland prairie about 13 miles east of downtown Dallas. Once a farming community on the rail line, it grew into a substantial suburb over the 20th century. It carries the state designation of Rodeo Capital of Texas and is known for its long-running championship rodeo held through the summer months.
