La Marque is a city in Galveston County on the upper Gulf Coast of Texas, set on the mainland between Galveston Bay and the coastal prairie southeast of Houston. It lies about 12 miles northwest of Galveston, near the industrial corridor around Texas City, and sits close to the bay waters that define this stretch of coast. The city is part of the densely developed band of communities along the Interstate 45 route running down to the Gulf.
