Indian Lake is a small town in Cameron County, in the Lower Rio Grande Valley near the state's southern tip, situated in flat coastal-plain country about 13 miles north of Brownsville. The surrounding area is characterized by the Valley's warm subtropical climate, farmland, and resacas, the old river channels that thread the region. McAllen lies roughly 44 miles to the west.
