Rancho Viejo is a small town in Cameron County in the Rio Grande Valley, just north of Brownsville near the southern tip of Texas. It lies in the flat, subtropical delta country of the lower Rio Grande, a landscape of resacas and irrigated farmland, and is known locally as a planned resort community built around golf courses. The region's warm winters have long drawn seasonal residents to the Valley.
