Cushing, Texas

Cushing is a small city in northwestern Nacogdoches County, in the Piney Woods of East Texas, about 46 miles southeast of Tyler. The surrounding country is rolling and heavily wooded, part of the pine and hardwood belt that defines the region, and the area lies within the oil- and gas-producing zone of deep East Texas. Timber and rural farmland make up much of the landscape around the town.
