Coleman is a city in west-central Texas, in Coleman County about 46 miles southeast of Abilene, in the transitional rangeland where the rolling plains meet the edge of the Hill Country. Ranching and farming have long shaped the surrounding countryside, and Hords Creek Reservoir lies a short distance to the west.
