Boyd is a small town in Wise County, about 27 miles northwest of Fort Worth, set in the wooded, rolling hills and ranch country of the Western Cross Timbers. It functions largely as a rural community and bedroom town on the outer edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The surrounding land mixes pasture, oak woodland, and scattered farms.
