Newark is a small community in the southeastern corner of Wise County, roughly 20 miles northwest of Fort Worth. It occupies gently rolling prairie and cross-timbers country on the edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, in a rural area of pasture and scattered woodland north of the city.
