Bailey is a small city in Fannin County, in the blackland farming country of North Texas, about 32 miles northeast of McKinney. The surrounding land is gently rolling prairie given over largely to row crops, pasture, and cattle. It lies well outside the built-up northern edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, keeping a distinctly rural character.
