Arcola is a small city in Fort Bend County on the flat coastal plain in the greater Houston area, lying about 12 miles west of Pearland and roughly 13 miles east of Sugar Land, with Houston about 19 miles to the north. Once farming country in the Brazos River bottomlands, it now sits amid the spreading suburban growth south of Houston.
