Missouri City, Texas
Missouri City is a suburban city in the Houston metropolitan area, lying mostly in Fort Bend County about 17 miles southwest of downtown Houston and adjoining Sugar Land. Once a small settlement along an early rail line through the flat coastal-plain country southwest of the city, it grew rapidly in the later twentieth century into a residential community of master-planned neighborhoods and now ranks among the larger cities in Fort Bend County.
