Sandy Point, Texas

Sandy Point is a small community in Brazoria County, set on the flat coastal prairie of the upper Gulf Coast about 26 miles south of Houston. It sits roughly 16 miles southwest of Pearland, in a rural landscape of farmland, pasture, and low-lying bottomland drained by the creeks and rivers of the Brazos basin. The surrounding county is among the older-settled parts of the Texas coast, with an economy long tied to agriculture and, later, the petrochemical industry of the greater Houston area.
