No Inspection Sticker Needed to Register Your Car in Medina County

Since January 1, 2025, most personal cars and pickups do not need a Texas safety check before registration. Medina County repeats that rule on its tax page.

That yearly stop at an inspection station is gone for a normal personal vehicle. Emissions testing is a separate rule. TxDMV lists the counties that still need it. Medina County is not listed.

Commercial vehicles are different. They still have inspection rules. For title and registration work, offices are available in Hondo, Devine, and Castroville.
