Devine is a small city in Medina County, in the South Central Texas farm and ranch country about 31 miles southwest of San Antonio. It sits along Interstate 35 on the coastal-plain fringe west of the city, surrounded by fields, pasture, and mesquite range. The surrounding area has long supported cattle raising and row-crop agriculture.
