Rail Trail Stories & local character

The A-train Rail Trail links Denton and Lewisville

The DCTA A-train Rail Trail is a paved path of about 19 miles. It follows the A-train commuter rail line from the Downtown Denton Transit Center south to the Hebron station in Lewisville. Several rail stations sit along the way.

Because the trail parallels the train, you can walk or ride one direction and take the A-train back. That makes a longer one-way trip easier than a long out-and-back. It also gives the county an outdoor route that is not a lake or park loop.

The trail shows how Denton County is growing: rail, paths, apartments, and job centers built close together. City and DCTA maps show the current access points and station details.
