Business Equipment May Need a TAD Rendition

A Tarrant County business may owe property tax on more than its building. Inventory, equipment, fixtures, and rolling stock can count as taxable business personal property.

Those items are reported to the Tarrant Appraisal District on a rendition form. The normal deadline is April 15, or the next business day when April 15 lands on a weekend. A 30-day extension has to be requested by that same date.

Missing the filing can add a 10 percent penalty. Shops, warehouses, offices, food trucks, and one-truck contractors should all check TAD's business-owner guidance before spring gets busy.
