Burleson's Museum Sits in the Old Interurban Depot
Before the highway, an electric interurban line carried people between Fort Worth and towns to the south. Burleson's depot was one of the stops. The depot still stands at 124 W. Ellison Street and now houses the Burleson Museum and Visitors Center.
The city owns the building, and Burleson Heritage Foundation volunteers help run it. Inside are donated pieces from local families and businesses, the everyday objects of a small Texas town's history.
Next door sits restored rail car #330, moved there in 2010, with kiosks that tell Burleson's story. It gives the county's north end its own local-history anchor.
