Alvarado, Texas
Alvarado is a city in Johnson County about 25 miles south of Fort Worth, on the rolling prairie south of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. It began as a railroad and farming town on the blackland prairie and now sits near the junction of Interstate 35W and U.S. and state highways that carry traffic between the metroplex and central Texas. The surrounding country remains a mix of pastureland, cropland, and expanding residential development.
