Whitewright is a small town in the Blackland Prairie country of North Texas, located in the corner of Grayson and Fannin counties about 26 miles northeast of McKinney. The surrounding land is open farmland and pasture, and the community developed as a rail and trade point for the agricultural country around it, retaining the character of a small prairie town.
