Uncertain, Texas
Uncertain is a very small city on the shore of Caddo Lake in far northeastern Harrison County, in the Piney Woods of East Texas about 38 miles northeast of Longview. The town sits amid the cypress sloughs and Spanish moss at the west end of the lake, and its economy centers on fishing, hunting, and boat tours through the flooded bald-cypress channels. Its unusual name, according to local tradition, dates to a time when the community could not settle on what to call itself.
