Marshall, Texas
Marshall is a city in Harrison County in the East Texas Piney Woods, about 23 miles east of Longview and near the eastern edge of the state. Set in rolling, forested country of pine and hardwood, it grew historically as a center of trade, rail, and industry in East Texas and served as an important town during the Civil War era. Marshall is widely known for its elaborate holiday light festival and for its role in the region's pottery-making tradition.
