Trinity is a city in Trinity County, in the Piney Woods of East Texas about 54 miles north of The Woodlands. It lies in wooded, low-lying country near the Trinity River, from which both the town and county take their name. The area's economy has long been tied to timber and the surrounding pine forests, including nearby stretches of the Davy Crockett National Forest.
