Toyah, Texas

Toyah is a small town in Reeves County, in the arid Trans-Pecos country of far West Texas, roughly 92 miles southwest of Odessa. It grew as a stop on the railroad and served for a time as a cattle-shipping and railroad center before declining sharply through the twentieth century. Today much of the town stands largely emptied, with weathered buildings remaining on the dry plain as reminders of its railroad-era past.
