Thorndale, Texas

Thorndale is a small city in Milam County, in the blackland farm country of Central Texas east of the Austin metro area, roughly 28 miles east of Georgetown. It grew as a railroad shipping and supply point for surrounding farmers, and its economy long rested on cotton, corn, and cattle. The town sits amid open agricultural land on the gently rolling prairie between Austin and the Brazos River.
