Thompsons is a small town in Fort Bend County, southwest of Houston in the coastal-plain country along the Brazos River, about 10 miles from Sugar Land. The surrounding land is flat and low, long given over to farming in this part of the county. It remains a small, lightly populated community about 25 miles southwest of Houston.
