Saint Jo, Texas

Saint Jo is a small city in Montague County, in the rolling prairie and Cross Timbers country of North Texas about 40 miles northwest of Denton and not far from the Red River. The town lies in ranching and farming land near the historic route that carried cattle drives north through this part of the state in the nineteenth century. It retains an old town square lined with brick buildings from its earlier days as a trade stop on the plains.
