Splendora is a small city in Montgomery County in the wooded country northeast of Houston, strung along the U.S. 59 and Interstate 69 corridor about 18 miles east of The Woodlands. It sits in the Piney Woods among the pine and hardwood forest of the upper Gulf Coast region. Long a rural community along the highway, it has increasingly drawn residential growth pushing outward from the Houston metropolitan area.
