Shoreacres is a small residential city in Harris County, sitting on the northwestern shore of Galveston Bay about 23 miles east of Houston. Its waterfront location on the bay near the Houston Ship Channel gives the town a coastal, marine-oriented character, with boating and bay access central to local life. It is one of the small incorporated communities clustered along the bay east of the Houston metropolitan core.
